Paola is completing her PhD. thesis at the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Agro-food Sciences at the University of Torino, Italy. Her PhD thesis is entitled “Knowledge and Technology Transfer in Sustainable Crop Protection”. 

Paola currently works with Agroinnova and the University of Turin at their centre of competence for innovation in the agro-environmental sector. She is the project manager for development and monitoring of international projects in the field of sustainable agriculture and food safety.

Prior to this, from 2008 to 2010, Paola worked as a senior expert for the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in Rome assisting on the implementation of European and International regulations in Italy.

From 2004 to 2008 Paola was the country coordinator in Mali on behalf of projects funded jointly by the European Commission, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UNOPS. At that time Paola was based in Mali and was designing, planning and implementing projects to promote rural development and food security in Mali, Togo, Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, Egypt and South Africa.

Paola is a recognized research expert in the field of crop protection chemicals with numerous scientific publications to her name.

Paola’s has a MSc in Agronomy (2002), with a research thesis on “Agro-economic impact of small-scale irrigation schemes in Timbuktu Region (Mali)”.
